🔐 Competing in CPTC was an unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of my journey as a cybersecurity student! 🔐

The Global Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC) is an incredible competition where students take on the role of professional penetration testers. Participants identify vulnerabilities in simulated corporate environments that include Linux, Windows, databases, web applications, and more. We analyze findings, propose remediation strategies, and present solutions to a mock client, mirroring the real-world challenges of cybersecurity consulting! 🐱‍💻

Huge thank you to CPTC organizers Lucas Morris and Gideon Gray for giving so many students this awesome experience!

This was the first offense-focused cybersecurity competition Illinois Institute of Technology has ever participated in, and I’m incredibly proud of my team for taking on this challenge: Mohamed Trigui, Neeraj Kanshetwar, Kushal Badodekar, Henil Gandhi, Jainil Modi, and our super coach John Ford! 🔥
Thank you so much John for the inspiration, motivation, weekly lessons, and epic ProxMox Server environment to practice our skills!

Thank you Liberty Page, the University of New Haven, and all the great volunteers for hosting such an epic event!

Thanks to Black Hills Information Security for sponsoring CPTC!
I can’t overstate how amazing it was to meet everyone, especially Deb Wigley. Thank you for sharing your advice, connections, and opportunities, bringing me one step closer to my dream of working at NASA! ✨
Thank you Jack Hyland and Adam R for showing us a really cool physical pentesting kit!

Lastly, a big thank you goes to the Illinois Tech College of Computing and the Office of Student life for making this trip possible for us students. We are so grateful for your support!
